"I so admire the determination of Julia, an ordinary girl doing something extraordinary for the injustice of human trafficking. She embodies the spirit of adventure - huge ambition, huge hardship and a huge heart."

Julia's oar-some Atlantic adventure!

More people have gone into space or climbed Everest than have rowed an ocean

On the 4th December 2011 Julia will be the first Finnish person to row the Atlantic in what is known as 'the world's toughest rowing race', rowing 2600 miles from the Canaries to Barbados. Having gotten into a rowing boat only a year before, this is the ultimate test of physical ability, mental strength and endurance.

William Wilberforce spearheaded the 20-year-long campaign to abolish one of the great crimes against humanity of the 18th century - The Atlantic Slave Trade. Today there remain more slaves than ever before. Today it is a hidden crime with many trafficked victims secretly shipped in tiny cage-like containers across the ocean. Julia's love for sport and heart for this injustice are the combined inspiration to 'Row For Freedom' especially with how symbolic the ocean is of slavery past and present.

It is Julia's hope to raise much media awareness and funds for anti trafficking charities. This is a superb marketing opportunity for potential sponsors and companies to get their branding on the boat.

Julia is leading a team of 6 ordinary girls on an extraordinary adventure united for the cause of human trafficking. The crew will establish a world record by being the first female 6 ever to row the Atlantic. They are also going for a record speed attempt. The crew range from Dubai to Colorado, from models to charity workers & are all passionate to Row For Freedom!
